John Berger -" Techniques for Seeing "

The essay by Ruben Berger Methods of Seeing, printed in 2013 from the publication " Psychic readings for Writers”, describes the relation of what we discover and how it is usually interpreted by what we know or believe. How you visualize an image will be different because how someone more appreciates it and this adjustments the way we see. He as well states that every image represents a way of discovering; however how we appreciate the image depend upon which way we see things. Bergerot acknowledges the importance of history and just how we worth an image among its present and its previous. This leads to social mystification in the past and deprives all of us from our very own history. The mystery and history of a picture can gain its own electric power and be validated by the position of ruling classes. Berger states that today we avoid mystification of the previous and perceive it in different ways. The importance of paintings today is susceptible to the history and perhaps the mystery. Berger also talks about how a invention of the camera altered the way persons saw works of art. When a piece of art is reproduced by a camera the uniqueness of an image is no longer present. The camera made it seem to be as whatever we saw counted on when and where i was at that moment. Now, the paining is traveling in order to spectators and so they have a various meaning based upon each individual standpoint. This is when the meaning and detail of a produced paining can be changed. The detail can also be modified by simply excluding a particular section of the painting to abstract that. After a imitation, since the piece of art has changed in various ways we might argue it still has a unique uniqueness. However , one can have the original portrait and the imitation and as a result the first meaning has ceased to be found.
